For years now, we’ve been hearing that sticking to a morning quiet time or worship routine is the best, maybe even the ONLY way to prioritize your personal faith while building a business. But what if we told you there’s more for you than checking your faith off the to-do list?

Let’s explore why the checklist method doesn’t work and how you can seamlessly integrate your personal relationship with Jesus into your entrepreneurial journey.

What’s Not So Great About the Checklist Method

Here’s the thing. Checking off your morning quiet time might seem like the best way, but it often falls short for several reasons:

  • It can feel rushed and obligatory.
  • It may not address your spiritual needs throughout the day.
  • It might lead to a disconnected or ritualistic approach to faith.

Instead of relying solely on your morning routine, let’s explore a more holistic approach to nurturing your personal faith while building your business.

A Better Way to Prioritize Personal Faith

Here’s what we recommend:

  1. Talk to God Throughout the Day

Instead of confining your prayer time to the morning, cultivate an ongoing conversation with God throughout your day. Share your challenges, seek guidance before meetings, and express gratitude for blessings as they come.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Our prayer should not be confined to certain hours of the day. Jesus is your friend! (John 15:14).

  1. Memorize Scripture

Committing key scriptures to memory can provide a source of strength and wisdom during challenging times. Choose verses that resonate with you and recite them whenever you need encouragement.

When choosing verses to memorize, pray that God will bring them to the forefront of your mind when you need them.

  1. Worship in the Car

Turn your commute into a time of worship by playing uplifting music or listening to sermons or podcasts that inspire you. We love “Made for This” with Jenny Allen and The “WHOA That’s Good” podcast with Sadie Robertson Huff.
