Wondering if you’re ready to take the leap into the next phase of your business journey?

It’s a common question, especially when considering significant steps like hiring your first employee or investing in advertising. We understand the apprehension. We’ve been there, and it’s a constant battle of decision-making and hoping that you’re aligned with God’s will.

We’re here to guide you through the process of determining if you’re truly ready for this next chapter.

Let’s dig in.

10 Ways to Know if It’s Time for the Next Big Step

Discovering your readiness for the next big step is your personal faith journey, we want to give you some tips to help you get aligned with what God wants for you.

#1: Get Quiet

In today’s fast-paced and often chaotic world, finding moments of stillness and silence is essential for tuning into God’s voice and discerning His guidance.

Carving out dedicated time for prayer, meditation, and reflection allows you to quiet the external distractions and internal chatter that can cloud your spiritual discernment.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3).

#2: Turn off the Voice of Doubt

Doubt is a common adversary that can undermine your confidence, faith, and clarity of purpose. However, overcoming doubt requires a proactive approach rooted in faith and self-awareness.

Start by identifying the negative self-talk and limiting beliefs that fuel your doubts, and challenge them with affirmations of Truth.

#3: Surrender Your Own Timeline for His Will

Trusting in God’s plan for your life means relinquishing control over the timing and outcomes of your endeavors. Instead of rigidly adhering to your own schedule or expectations, surrendering to God’s will involves placing your faith in His divine timing and wisdom.

This requires humility, patience, and a willingness to accept that His plan may differ from your own.

If your next big step aligns with the truth of God’s Word, I encourage you to step out in faith, knowing that God will catch you when you fall.

#4: Receive Encouragement from Others

If trusted individuals in your life have pushed you towards this next step, it’s worth bringing their insights to the Lord and asking Him to guide you.

Surrounding yourself with a supportive community that knows what’s going on in your business or faces similar challenges can provide valuable perspectives to help boost your confidence in taking this next step.

“For where there are two or three gathered in my name, there am I among them” (Matthew 18:20).

#5: Establish a Strong Foundation

When you feel a new season taking form, God calls us to be prepared! Before taking the plunge, ensure that you’ve laid the groundwork necessary for success.

Whether it’s setting up essential systems, honing your skills, or securing adequate resources, a strong foundation is crucial for building something in obedience.

“Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house” (Proverbs 24:27).

Standing in between you and your next business step: The Doubt Edition

Usually, the biggest thing standing in the way of your wildest dreams isn’t something external. It’s actually not believing you’re capable.

Some common concerns I hear from my clients are:

  • What if I run out of money?
  • What if it doesn’t work out?
  • Isn’t there someone better suited?

Does any of that sound familiar?

The best way to clear those concerns up is to pray and get clear on your “why”. Why do you want to take the next step in business in the first place?

When you seek the Lord and get clear on your “why” you’ll find that you have the confidence and direction to take your next step.

Standing in between you and the Big Step: Real-Life Obstacles

Real-life obstacles are some of the most obvious challenges you’re going to face with your next big step.

You likely will have some challenges that are unique to your situation, resources, and walk with God.

The good news is, He blessed us with the Gift of His Word, that provides us with wisdom, insights, and connection to the Creator of the Universe.

If you’re apprehensive about building something that God has called you to, remember that He is I AM, and his work will be done.

That’s a wrap!

We hope this helps you with deciphering the next step in your business.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2).
